The University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame is saddened by the passing of Past President and UMSHoF member Don Marriutto, Sr. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Marriutto family and his friends at this time. Don served as UMSHoF president in 1977-1979 and was inducted into the Hall in 1990. He was a beloved friend of the Hall and will be greatly missed.
The UM Sports Hall of Fame is saddened by the news that former Athletic Director and UMSHoF Member Paul Dee has passed away. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. He served as Director of Athletics at Miami from 1993 to 2008 and was inducted into the UMSHoF in 2003. He was 65 years old.

Mrs. Kichefski Stops by the Hall !
The UM Sports Hall of Fame was happy to welcome Mrs.Helene Kichefski for a recent visit ! Mrs. K., and her late husband, former Hurricanes coach Walt Kichefski, were instrumental in the founding of the Hall of Fame and served as "parents away from home" to many former student-athletes in the many years they served the Orange, Green and White ! Visiting with Mrs. Kichefski was her daughter, Mary Kichefski-Galeri, and her grandchildren Kristin Galeri and AJ Galeri.
They are standing in front of the plaque for the Walter Kichefski Football Scholarship Endowment, awarded annually at the UMSHoF induction banquet.
Laura Vallverdu visited the UMSHoF recently to see the display with one of the racquets she used to win the 2010 Honda Sports Award as the top collegiate tennis player in America !
Nestled on the Coral Gables Campus of the University of Miami, is the UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI SPORTS HALL OF FAME.
